If you’ve learned a lot about leadership and making a movement, then let’s watch a movement happen, start to finish, in under 3 minutes, and dissect some lessons:

A leader needs the guts to stand alone and look ridiculous. But what he’s doing is so simple, it’s almost instructional. This is key. You must be easy to follow!

Now comes the first follower with a crucial role: he publicly shows everyone how to follow. Notice the leader embraces him as an equal, so it’s not about the leader anymore – it’s about them, plural. Notice he’s calling to his friends to join in. It takes guts to be a first follower! You stand out and brave ridicule, yourself. Being a first follower is an under-appreciated form of leadership. The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader. If the leader is the flint, the first follower is the spark that makes the fire.

The 2nd follower is a turning point: it’s proof the first has done well. Now it’s not a lone nut, and it’s not two nuts. Three is a crowd and a crowd is news.

A movement must be public. Make sure outsiders see more than just the leader. Everyone needs to see the followers, because new followers emulate followers – not the leader.

Now here come 2 more, then 3 more. Now we’ve got momentum. This is the tipping point! Now we’ve got a movement!

As more people jump in, it’s no longer risky. If they were on the fence before, there’s no reason not to join now. They won’t be ridiculed, they won’t stand out, and they will be part of the in-crowd, if they hurry. Over the next minute you’ll see the rest who prefer to be part of the crowd, because eventually they’d be ridiculed for not joining.

And ladies and gentlemen that is how a movement is made! Let’s recap what we learned:

If you are a version of the shirtless dancing guy, all alone, remember the importance of nurturing your first few followers as equals, making everything clearly about the movement, not you.

Be public. Be easy to follow!

But the biggest lesson here – did you catch it?

Leadership is over-glorified.

Yes it started with the shirtless guy, and he’ll get all the credit, but you saw what really happened:

It was the first follower that transformed a lone nut into a leader.

There is no movement without the first follower.

We’re told we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective.

The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow.

When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in.

Hello npn’ers,

Things are really starting to develop around the new Global NPN website update.

If you haven’t looked at it, there are some new videos that the Admin Geoff has put up, including some great member testimonials (my testimonail starts around 2:45min) that already received great comments …  This site is designed to sell and all of Geoff’s testing has resulted in very good conversion rates – even without any sort of ‘pre-sell’. As an NPN member I’d recommend that you start firing some qualified traffic at it to see for yourself.

Global NPN also added a new capture page to our selection of capture pages in the same style as the website, which tested well also. This is connected to the ‘free report’ that has been responsible for thousands of NPN signups since it was first introduced. There will be more capture pages created as NPN goes along…

Also..

There are brand new plug-n-play banners for promoting our GlobalNPN business!  There are the standard size banners, plus some ‘blog ready’ sized banners for you to use right away. Also on the banners page there are some really cool looking ‘membership cards’ that you can use as banners as well. As always, I’d recommend sending your banner traffic to a capture page first – preferrably the new one!

Note: Click on “NPN Banners” in the menu in your backoffice, under “Promotional”..

NPNDirectorMachine is coming along nicely. Personally I think the Director Machine capture page is looking BETTER than the new NPN website! Start getting excited – we’re going to create some ‘super-sized’ incomes with this one..

Internet Marketers should love Facebook. With 500 million+ users, Facebook is destined to become the No 1 source of traffic on the internet and the most visited website in the near future.

The best place you can place your brand or business on Facebook is through a Facebook Fan Page. The best thing about a Fan page is that you can customize it to your liking. In this post i will share with you how you can create a custom Facebook Fan Page for your business. All you need is a little knowledge of HTML.

But before i show you the strategy though, think about the last time you entered your email in exchange for a free download or something.

If you entered your email you perceived the value of the download much larger than the “expense” of joining another mailing list. This also works with Facebook. In other words, the strategy i will share with you in this post only works if you’re offering real value in exchange for a new fan. On my page i am offering a 76 minute exclusive Facebook marketing webinar…

So the goal is simple: Create an incentive for visitors to become a fan of your Facebook Page.

So here we go:

Step 1 – Create a Facebook Fan Page

http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

Select a category (i chose “Public figure”) and name for your page and click the “Create Page” button.

Step 2 – Add Static FBML to your Fan Page

Click on “Edit page” and go to the bottom of the page to find “More applications”

Do a search for “static FBML” on Facebook (or just click here) and click “Add to my Page”. A pop up will appear with a list of your pages. Select the Page you want to customize by clicking the “Add to Page” button next to the Page, and when you click the button it will disappear from the list. Now click “Close”.

Step 3 – Go Back to your Fan Page and Edit FBML

Once you’ve added the Static FBML app, click “Edit Page” below your Fan page profile image. This will bring up all your settings and apps. Scroll down and find the FBML app and click the “Application Settings” link. Now another dialog will appear. Click “add” next to the Tab field and click Ok. You’ve now just added a blank Tab called “FBML” to your Page. Now you need to customize it.

Step 4 – Add Content to Your Custom Tab

So go back to your settins and app and scroll down to your FBML app and click the “Edit” link under the Static FBML app.

This opens a standard text field where you can add your content and rename that tab to anything you wish. “Box Title” will be the name of your tab, so you’ll want to change it to something appropriate, depending on how you plan to use your Page. I have called it “Free Training”.

The main field is where your content goes, and you can add standard HTML like any other website. No need for HTML, BODY, or HEAD tags.

Note that your images must be hosted on your own server (see my image above). Make this tab as eye catching as possible.

Step 5 – Make your new Static FBML tab the default landing page

In order to set your Page as the default landing page, just click “Edit Page” as mentioned earlier. Under “Wall Settings”, click “edit”, and under “default landing tab for everyone else” select your new tab in the drop down.

That’s it! Don’t forget that the default tab is only visible as a default landing page for those that are not yet fans of your Page yet.

Step 6 – Hide Content to anyone who is not a Fan

I have a tab called “Free Training”. This tab has hidden content not seen by “non-fans”.

But once the visitor becomes a fan, this tab will display the hidden content.

Go to your Wall tab, Edit Page link, locate the Static FBML icon under Applications and click Edit.

To the beginning of your page add:
<fb:fbml version=”1.1″>
To the end of your page add:
</fb:fbml>

Your “hide to non-Fans” code is:

<fb:visible-to-connection>
Anything between the tags will be hidden.
</fb:visible-to-connection>

When you are done save changes and go to your tab. Note: As admin ALL HTML will be visible to you even if you are not a fan. Use another account to test or ask a friend.

Conclusion

As i have just showed you, a Facebook Page is a powerful tool that you can use to enhance and strengthen your brand, gather more fans and generate more leads for your business. Be sure to make use of the Facebook Static FBML app, customize it, and make it work to get get thousands of fans and generate more leads for your internet marketing business. Facebook is growing massively at the moment and i am sure it will hit 1 billion users in the near future.

Multilevel marketers spend a lot of time and effort today to generate targeted leads for their businesses. Actually, any kind of leads are all right, because all of them have at least a modicum of potential to become a part of the network. Most marketers are of the opinion that nothing can help build their network as well as lead generation can.

If you are looking at lead generation to multiply your MLM prospects several times over too, this is what you have to do.

Step 1 – Create a Squeeze Page

A squeeze page or a lead capture page is a page where a person is asked for some information about themselves, such as their names and email addresses. These pages have to be very attractive and concise. They must speak directly about providing the information and how it will be used to send them some quality online products such as an eBook or a regular newsletter and that their personal details will never be used for any other reason or sold to someone else. Put a ‘Continue’ button on the squeeze page which takes them to where the product is. So, the squeeze page is an intermediate page between the advertisement and the actual product, where you can capture leads. (Click here to see one of my squeeze pages)

Step 2 – Advertise the Squeeze Page

Now, you will have to advertise the free product that you are giving your visitors. You can advertise this on your MLM blog or website. Give them a link in this advertisement that leads them to the squeeze page. They will fill in their details here and upon pressing the ‘Continue’ button, they will be led to the area on your website from where they can opt in for the newsletter or download the eBook, as the case might be.

Step 3 – Build the Leads

Once you get all these email addresses, they become your list of leads. Your squeeze page has, thus, acted as a means of lead generation for you. It has done so in a completely automated fashion without any intervention from you. I highly recommend using Aweber.

Step 4 – Promote Your Opportunity to the Leads

There are many ways in which you can promote your business opportunity to these leads. You can keep sending them informative emails (as newsletters or otherwise) that can build their interest into the opportunity. Also, you can invite them to a business opportunity meeting or seminar where they can get to know the opportunity in a better way. A lot of interested persons will respond, based on how you have worded your email communication to them.

It might take a little coffee or probably a few rounds of beer or any other booze you could get your hands on when it comes to relaxing after a hard day’s work. Well, yeah I’m guilty about that one as well, unless I’m caught dead wearing a lampshade over my head after a few rounds of vodka… half-naked! Okay, bad example and I apologize to everyone reading this after getting nightmares about me in that state of drunken stupor.

Just don’t ask how it happened, please.

But what’s really interesting is that how do people go through the usual part of life when faced with vein-popping stress? I mean, the new age thing like Zen or yoga is one of the good things and it actually works. Is there room for the intellectual side of people who can actually smell the roses-in-a-can while on the move? It kind of had me thinking that there really must be something in this ‘mind-over-matter’ thing.

Humor is indeed the best medicine there is whenever you are. I mean anyone can pay good money to listen to a comedian just to make you wet your pants after laughing so hard. Despite of what’s been happening, and to those who has gone though the ordeal, it’s better to just laugh while facing the troubles with a clear mind than anger with a clouded vision. One of my favorite celebrities of all time may have to be Woody Allen. Now this is one guy who gives you the in-your-face bluntness that he pulls out with gusto, even without even trying. You can talk just about anything with a man, and he’s bound to mock the subject and you’ll end up laughing rather than being upset about it.

Woody Allen has this to say:

1. “Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.” It sounds good to me, I mean the practicality of all things does involve money but it doesn’t have to take an arm and a leg to get it.

2. “I believe there is something out there watching us. Unfortunately, it’s the government.” ‘Nuff said.

3. “There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman?” This happens to be one of the classic ones. I mean the issue about life’s little problems isn’t all that bad, until ‘he’ shows up.

Sure, relationships can get complicated, or does have its complications that probably any author about relationships is bound to discover it soon. We follow what our heart desires, unless you’re talking about the heart as in the heart that pump blood throughout your body.

4. “Love is the answer, but while you’re waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty interesting questions.” And if you want more, just keep on asking!

5. “A fast word about oral contraception. I asked a girl to go to bed with me, she said ‘no’.” It sounds, ‘practical’, I think.

And when it comes to everyday life, he really knows how to make the best out of every possible scenario, and it doesn’t involve a lawsuit if he strikes a nerve.

6. “Basically my wife was immature. I’d be at home in the bath and she’d come in and sink my boats.” I never had a boat in my bathtub before. Just staring at it while soaking in hot water makes me seasick already.

7. “I am not afraid of death, I just don’t want to be there when it happens.” If it rains, it pours.

8. “I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose.” It could get worse when you’re guzzling on beer… or mouthwash, and it happened to me once!

9. “If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.” At least he doesn’t smite us with lightning, and I’m thankful for that.

And despite of what may happen to all of us in the next ten, twenty, or even thirty years, I guess we all have to see things in a different kind of light and not just perspective. I can’t seem to imagine life without any piece of wisdom that could guide us. Whether we’re religious or not, it takes more courage to accept your fears and learn how to deal with them is all that matters when it comes to even just getting along.

And to sum things up, here is the last nugget of wisdom to go by… however, whenever, and wherever we may be.

10. “The talent for being happy is appreciating and liking what you have, instead of what you don’t have.”
